  • L. Parker D.V.M. -- President

 

Raised in the shadows of NASA in Clear Lake City, TX, Dr. Leanne Chapman-Parker knew at the ripe old age of 8 that she wanted to be a veterinarian.

 

After declining an invitation to become a Rhodes Scholar from Oxford University in England, Dr. Parker attended Texas A&M University and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science.  She was then immediately accepted into Texas A&M University Veterinary College where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1994 with the honor of Magna Cum Laude.

Dr. Parker’s veterinary medical interests concentrate on internal and preventative medicine of small animals as well as emergency medicine.

Beginning her professional career on the Texas Gulf Coast in 1994, Dr. Parker moved to Austin in 1996 and quickly became the lead associate at AM/PM Animal Hospital.  She then purchased the practice in July 2002 and has been growing it ever since.

Dr. Parker enjoys her pets at home and work which include her boxer-Madison, orange tabby-Bailey, rescue greyhounds-Lewis and Gabby, and the hospital cat-June.  Outside of work, Dr. Parker enjoys travelling as much as she can.

  • E. Smith, D.V.M. 

Dr. Erin Merrel Smith was raised in McKinney, TX and attended the University of North Texas, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry.

 

Auburn University was next in her sights where she excelled in her pursuit of veterinary medicine achieving her degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 with interests in the fields of ophthalmology and emergency medicine.  She then continued her education by performing an internship in Emergency Medicine at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida.

AM/PM Animal Hospital had the great fortune of welcoming Dr. Smith as an associate veterinarian in 2003 where she has steadily grown as a practitioner and helped countless numbers of pet loved-ones to live happy and healthy lives.

Dr. Smith spoils and loves her pets Hazel, (a domestic short hair cat), and Harriet, (a black and white French Bulldog).  Her hobbies are numerous and include playing the cello.

 

  • J. Renner, D.V.M.

Dr. Jennifer Elizabeth Wells-Renner was raised in Ft. Worth, TX and attended Texas A&M University to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science which she earned in 1999.  In 2004 she was awarded her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University Veterinary College and began practicing veterinary medicine in the Dallas Metroplex until becoming a valued associate of  AM/PM Animal Hospital in 2006.

 

Dr. Renner’s interests in veterinary medicine lay in internal medicine, small mammals and pocket pets, and emergency medicine.

A hobbyist French Horn player, Dr. Renner also enjoys reading and spelunking among other things.

Her pets are numerous and assorted and include cats (Spot and Mr. Mojo), a heeler (Loretta), Aussie Shepherd (Clover), and a ferret (Wicked Felina), and many more…Dr. Renner also works closely with the Texas Rat Rescue Group.

 

  • S. Johnson, D.V.M.

Dr. Shaun Christopher Johnson is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He attended East Carolina University where he earned two degrees in 2000, a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. 

 

He then attended North Carolina State University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2006. 

 

Dr. Johnson performed an internship in New York City in 2007 at the prestigious Animal Medical Center before becoming a valued associate at AM/PM Animal Hospital concentrating on emergency medicine and dentistry.

 

Dr. Johnson’s free time is spent either watching or playing numerous sports including:  football, disc golf, tennis, basketball, baseball, etc. and enjoy the company of his pet Labrador/Weimaraner mix, Emma.
